This senior leadership role provides an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape the firm’s SMSF services. The successful candidate will work closely with industry-leading partners and oversee a team dedicated to delivering high-quality SMSF advisory and management.
About The Role
Leadership: Lead and manage the SMSF division, overseeing a team of SMSF specialists.
Client Management: Handle a sophisticated portfolio of SMSF clients, providing strategic advice and tailored solutions.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with SMSF regulations, including the preparation and lodgment of financial statements, tax returns, and other regulatory documentation.
Strategy Development: Develop and implement SMSF strategies and planning, including tax and estate planning.
Team Oversight: Mentor and manage a team of SMSF professionals, including offshore team members, ensuring high standards of service and accuracy.
Client Advisory: Offer high-level advisory services on complex SMSF matters, including investment strategies and fund structuring.
Professional Development: Facilitate ongoing training and development for the SMSF team, keeping up with industry changes and best practices.
Quality Control: Review and ensure the quality of work produced by the SMSF team, including financial statement preparation and compliance checks.
Beneficial Experience
Proven experience in leading an SMSF division or similar high-level advisory role within a public practice accounting environment.
Strong track record of managing complex SMSF portfolios and providing strategic advice.
Expertise in SMSF compliance, including tax returns, financial statements, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with mentoring and managing a team, including overseeing offshore staff.
In-depth knowledge of SMSF investment strategies, tax planning, and estate planning.
8-12+ years of experience in public practice accounting, with a focus on SMSF.
Strong understanding of SMSF legislation and accounting standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
CA/CPA Qualification (or equivalent).
